Data Projects
Beyond academic publishing, I build data-driven public tools that bring social research to wider audiences.
Karne
Karne (karne.org) is a data platform that helps students and families across Turkey navigate the LGS and YKS exam process and decide where to study. It evaluates every university, department, and school against transparent criteria and turns them into a clear, report-card grade, alongside national rankings, LGS and YKS preference robots, saved and shareable preference lists, and career-fit tools. I lead the platform’s data and methodology.
Suç Endeksi
Suç Endeksi (sucendeksi.com) is a public crime database for Turkey, covering all 81 provinces and 973 districts. It indexes homicides, armed assaults, and other offenses as rates per 100,000 residents, with province and district profiles, comparisons, interactive maps, and subcategories such as femicides, intimate-partner homicides, and crimes involving minors. It combines large-scale news and event data with spatial and computational methods to make patterns of urban safety legible for researchers, institutions, and the public.
